Taal Lake Yacht Club is a family oriented sailing club that is open to Members, and non-members. It is located in Talisay Batangas, about 15 minutes from Tagaytay ridge.
Regular membership is limited to those who know how to sail. To help people qualify for membership, learn to sail programs are available for children and adults. The training programs are getting a lot of public attention. Groups are encouraged, schools and civic organizations, like the Girl Scouts, have been regular entrants to the programs. The programs focus on appreciation of the environment and how the forces of nature can "power up your weekend"!

Well maintained sailboats, mostly Hobie Cats, are available for rent, and there is club racing on the first Sunday of every month. The restaurant is a great vantage point to watch the racing from.

Kayaks are available for rent, and the club arranges boat trips to Taal Volcano. Camping is encouraged, and well behaved dogs are allowed. The club puts a lot of effort into the gardens that are well manicured and maintained, and these surround the large open sided native style cabanas that are available for rent. From the beginning, the owners decided that a "minimalist" approach was the best, and they determined that the 2 most important things that a Yacht Club needed were "Hot Showers and Cold Beer". The owners felt that both were in very short supply outside Manila, and set to the task with gusto. The bathrooms are indeed more than acceptable, and a simple cooler filled with ice and drinks is always on hand. The honor system prevails, so guests simply take drinks from the ice cold water and sign their names on a board that hangs by the cooler. Very unusual in the Philippines.

Ray's, which is a concession, fits right in, because other than serving cold canned drinks, the TLYC management did not want to get into the food business.  The management realizes that Ray's provides a service that they need but don't want to deal with, and Ray appreciates the environment and cooperation of the clubs owners. A great relationship has developed between the two, that is the envy of all.

Ray's is currently open on weekends, and he serves great barbecues, cold drinks, and coffee.

Just want to sit down and talk to someone who talks sense?  Want to do something different this weekend? Want to go out with the family and enjoy a few of the simple pleasures of  life in peace and quiet?  Then Check it out. You won't be disappointed. And you'll be back too. Guaranteed.
